How companies are calculating their biodiversity footprints

Convenor – Charlotte Phillips, Nature Partnership Manager, Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership

Panellists:

  • Dr Joseph Bull, Associate Professor in Climate Change Biology, Oxford University
  • Dr Ian Brettell, Biodiversity Policy Officer, Crowther Laboratory, Zurich
  • Stefanie Kaiser, Sector Head for Environmental Markets, NatureMetrics

Quantifying the corporate ‘footprint’ on biodiversity is a complex task, involving the assessment of a product’s impact on the natural environment throughout the value chain and is integral to corporate sustainability reporting requirements. This Panel will discuss various approaches being taken to develop a transparent science-based approach to support corporates in meeting these requirements and identify best practices in this rapidly developing sector.
